Ace Combat Assault Horizon: Trigger Finger is an Apple application released for the iPhone in December 2010. Based on Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, the app allows players to engage each other in realistic air combat with their cellphones. The game comes with early trailers of Assault Horizon.
Two players engage each other in a 3D plane piloting licensed aircraft. Movement is done by moving the iPhone, similar to a Wii controller. Missiles and guns are fired by touching the screen, and incoming attacks can be dodged by moving the phone just before impact.
By default, the game area is a void, blue sky. By enabling the "Camera mode" feature, the iPhone scans the environment and uses it as the battlefield, allowing users to fight in areas such as a room, the street and even their workplace. However, caution must be taken when flying in crowded urban areas, as players are liable to crashing into the "scenery."
There are three versions as of August 2011.
- 1.0.0: Aircraft included - EF-2000 Typhoon and Su-33 Flanker-D
- 1.0.1: New aircraft - F-22A Raptor and Rafale M
- 1.0.2: New aircraft - F-14D Super Tomcat
The AWACS announcements appear to have been re-used from Ace Combat Zero.
