Aubrey Air Force Base is a military airbase featured in Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. Located in Cape Aubrey, a peninsula located in southwestern Aurelia, it is a secret border defense base whose existence remains unknown to the Aurelian populace. It is the home of the 207th Tactical Fighter Squadron "Gryphus".

History Edit

Aurelia-Leasath War (2020)Edit

During the Leasath-Aurelian War in 2020, Aubrey AFB was the only air base in all of Aurelia that hadn't been suppressed by the Leasathian assault. Sometime that year, the peninsula came under a Leasath air operation to destroy Aubrey AFB, thus allowing Leasath to freely occupy the entire country unopposed. Gryphus Squadron, the air unit stationed at Aubrey, ambushed the Leasathian B-52 Stratofortress formation as they released their payload on an unnamed coastal city.

Shortly after the engagement, the peninsula came under attack from the Gleipnir, Leasath's main trump card. A Shock Wave Ballistic Missile attack annihilated nearly the entire Gryphus unit, Gryphus 1 and 5 being the only survivors. The base then served as a point for the Aurelian counter strike until the re-capture of Port Patterson. As Aurelia re-gained territory, Aubrey Base was relegated to emergency duty. When Leasath was defeated in December (est. December 18-22) of 2020, Gryphus 1 returned to Aubrey Base.
