Holy hell, this has been one wild weekend, everyone. Lots of new stuff has come out for Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown! I've been meaning to make a summary blog post detailing everything that's happened and all of the updates to Acepedia, but every time I tried starting this post, something else came up!

    So, here's a recap of what's happened:

On June 9, 2017 at 10:57 PM Tokyo time, Kazutoki Kono tweeted the following: "Three more minutes?" At 11:00 PM Tokyo time, the non-subtitled version of Ace Combat 7s E3 trailer was released exclusively via GameSpot.

Three hours later, at 1:57 AM Tokyo time, Kono then tweeted another three-minute warning. At 2:00 AM Tokyo time, the subtitled versions of the trailer were released via Bandai Namco's various YouT…

EDIT: Happy April Fools'! The wiki has been restored to its original color scheme.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, aces!

I've recently discovered something: many computer devices are now including features or have programs available to put on a "blue light filter", which reduces blue light from screens at nighttime and prevents eye strain. My laptop, desktop, and now even my phone automatically activate blue light filters when the sun sets every day.

A very popular program for computers is f.lux, which I highly recommend.

In light of this (haha, get it?), I've determined that the benefits are far too great to keep to myself. I wanted to share this helpful bit of science with the entire Ace Combat fandom. So, effective immediate…

Greetings, aces! Fandom, our parent service, has begun testing a new page header layout. Acepedia is part of the test! The goal of the project is to modernize the top section, to make it look neater and give it more accessibility and usefulness.

For more details on the test as well as some previews, check out this blog post on Community Central!

Fandom will be measuring usage statistics, so give it all a try and see how it works out. As you test out the new header, PLEASE leave your feedback here! User:Springteufel and other Fandom staff will be collecting feedback from all participating wikis, so the more feedback, the better!

Here's some comparison screenshots to help you out:

Please leave your comments below for any feedback you have! Fandom…

The moment has finally arrived! 10 years of hard work has brought us what I am so proud to announce: Acepedia now has its own Community App for mobile devices and tablets!

    • Google Play Store
    • Apple App Store

The Acepedia app is one of the best ways available to browse the wiki and participate in the community. It features integrated support for the new Discussions platform, and its home screen already features the main games that users will be interested in, including a preliminary category for Ace Combat 7.

If you've browsed Acepedia on a mobile web browser, you should find the experience similar yet much smoother on the app, and using the app bypasses the web browser completely.

There are definitely some edges that can be smoothed out - the Commu…

Wow... 10 years, everyone. 10 years ago, User:Thunderhead made his first edit on this wiki. That's just absolutely insane; I would venture a guess to say that many wikis on Fandom don't manage to last 10 years. I've only been an administrator here for almost three years, but I am absolutely honored to be able to initiate the celebrations.

This is going to be a long blog post, but I promise it's worth it :D If you really don't want to read through it, there's a table of contents below :P

I went digging through Acepedia's edit history a couple of weeks ago, and as it turns out... Thunderhead's first edit (look at how old that Main Page looks, btw) is not the first recorded edit on Acepedia.

I'm sure some of you are aware that Electrosphere, which…

Good day, aces! I wanted to make a summary post concerning the stats of Acepedia today compared to six months ago.

4,564 edits have been performed on articles in the main namespace (which doesn't include Template: or Category: or User:, etc.)
    425 photos have been uploaded.
111 new pages have been created.

I can also confirm that we've been receiving almost double the views and users after Ace Combat Infinitys release than before it! Somewhere around 10,000-15,000 pages were viewed before the game came out, and now we're averaging 25,000 and almost hitting 30,000 views! So thank you to everyone visiting!

After a bunch of updates to the team in the past few weeks, I'd like to introduce the current and new administration team of Acepedia:

    • User:SlyCoope…

I wanted to create a short and quick blog post showcasing a couple of changes to Acepedia that have been taking place, before Infinity launches and everyone starts playing it.

This is something I'd been looking to implement for a while, and I finally found it courtesy of  at the ! Thanks to his code, a tooltip will now appear whenever you hover over the reference number in the article! Similar to Wikipedia, this system will ensure that you won't have to click the reference, go all the way to the bottom of the article, check out the reference, then have to go all the way back up. Test it out by hovering over this reference:

You'll notice a gear icon to the top-right of the tooltip. Click this to modify your settings for the code! You can chang…

I would like to bring something important to the attention of Acepedia's users.

Earlier today, I contacted Wikia Support to revoke User:Protostealth's administrator and bureaucrat privileges, and he has also been temporarily banned for a month (Wikia Support banned him for two weeks, but I felt he deserved more).

Over the past few days, I've received a lot of emails concerning multiple edits to Acepedia's pages. This is normal during any peak editing time - I've gotten hundreds of emails from Wikia for Acepedia's edits. But all of these emails were being sent only for Proto's edits, and I began noticing some of them included deletions and category changes. I checked some of them out, and they were pages and categories that did not need to be…

It's been a while since we've had an official updates blog post, aces! Things have been in the works in the background for a couple of months on changing things such as aircraft article formats, game articles, infoboxes, references, and the like. A lot has changed, and a lot will continue to change. But I think we're at a point where we can talk about these changes and figure out where we are and where we're going, especially with the rules of this site going forward.

Before I do that, I want to extend a formal apology for my lack of progress (or at least, visible progress) over the past couple of months. After I became an admin, I put in motion some very important changes, and I did so in a quick-fire manner, getting rid of most of the out…

Aces, it's my four-year anniversary at Acepedia today! :O So I have a reverse gift for you! (Is that allowed?)

The category buttons on the Main Page were introduced by a member of the Wikia staff, User:JoePlay, with Proto's permission as part of an overhaul of the Main Page that took place in 2010 and 2011. But the images were notably biased towards Assault Horizon (why was a helicopter used for the Aircraft button?) as well as AC5. In fact, the only other game was Zero, and that was only one image. #unbalanced

When I performed the latest Main Page redesign in November, I decided to keep the buttons, but with the promise of changing them since the circles didn't really fit and the Assault Horizon theme was getting old. So all of the buttons hav…
