The E-2C Hawkeye is the mainstay AWACS platform for the U.S. Navy and air forces around the world. Designed and built by Northrop Grumman, it has been in U.S. Navy service since 1973. It has the ability to monitor up to 6 million cubic miles of airspace and 150,000 square miles of ocean surface for aircraft, missiles, ships, or other fixed targets. Its operators can track hundreds of targets in a radius extending up to 200 miles.
Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War
Edit

Added by Mercenary EagleIn gameplay, the aircraft is first featured in mission 5, "Rendezvous", where it accompanies the 3rd Osean Naval Fleet as it crosses the Eaglin Straits, and is one of the aircraft that survives the Scinfaxi's ballistic missile onslaught. A second E-2 appears in "Front Line", where it drops a sonobuoy into the ocean to track the Scinfaxi itself.
Although it is a non-playable aircraft, it does appear on Blaze's radar and HUD in mission 5 with the designation FRND.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
Edit
In Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, the E-2 Hawkeye is a minor aircraft operated by NATO. It makes a single radio-only appearance in the mission "Inferno", in which its operator (identified only as "Forward Air Controller") alerts Kingmaster over the damage suffered by the oil fields.
