Electronic Support Measures (ESM) a type of electronic warfare used to support allied units. It is featured in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation and Ace Combat Infinity.

In Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, ESM is provided by allied units such as radar vehicles, radar facilities, AWACS, and some naval ships. When player or other friendly aircraft enter the effective range of friendly ESM, which is marked by a pulsating blue circle on the radar, their missiles' homing capabilities and rate of fire will increase.[1] The effectiveness is indicated by the ESM level at the bottom right corner of the HUD.

On the other hand, enemy units can also deploy units to boaster their own combat capability. Hostile ESM are indicated by red pulsating circles on the radar, and can be neutralised by destroying the unit emitting the said ESM.[2] In Ace of Aces difficulty, enemy ESM can also lower the player's ESM level below 0 (down to a minimum threshold of 2), decreasing missile's effectiveness. Special weapons are not affected by enemy ESM.[3]

In Ace Combat Infinity, ESM is available as a special weapon. Its sole function is to increase the player aircraft's maximum range for Tactical Datalink for a certain amount of time.
