Ace Combat: Assault Horizon[]

In Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, the AC-130U is a gunship aircraft operated by the United States Air Force. Task Force 108 possesses a single unit, "Spooky 01", which is operated by USAF pilot Janice Rehl. It is the second gunship-type aircraft of the game, along with the UH-60 Black Hawk.

The aircraft is introduced in the fourth mission, "Spooky". In the mission, the player controls SO Spense, who is responsible for manning the gunship's armaments. Aiming is done with the right stick, and zooming in for improved accuracy is achieved by pressing the Triangle/Y button. Square/X is used to change weapons.

The GAU-12 has a high rate of fire and the highest zoom of the three. The autocannon possesses a semi-automatic rate of fire and explosive shells with an small area of effect, as well as medium zoom. Lastly, the 120mm fires a single, highly destructive shell with a massive area of effect, being capable of wiping out entire groups of enemies with one shot. However, the weapon's power is offset by the slow reloading time.

As with the playable helicopters, the 25mm can be used to eliminate incoming missiles before impact, however the task is made difficult by the Spooky's constant movement.

Colors[]
