Free Erusea is a large force of Erusian military personnel, which banded together after the conclusion of the Usean Continental War. They are the antagonists of the Arcade Mode of Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War.

BackgroundEdit

After the war, the Independent State Allied Forces (ISAF) helped reform the Erusian Government and occupied the nation. Though much of the Erusian military did not rebel against the regime change, many angry officers and military members expressed their outrage against the ISAF by banding together, and soon managed to capture an old weapons factory and a base of operations on the Erusian coastline.

Operation KatinaEdit

In 2006, "Free Erusea" began to attack the ISAF at various locations ac

ross the Usean Continent, such as Newfield Island and Mt. Shezna. The ISAF soon responded, choosing a small force to deal with this new threat. This force was comprised of one E-767 AWACS known as AWACS SkyEye and a single F-22 Raptor, piloted by Mobius One. After analyzing Mobius One’s battle data from the Usean Continental War, it was found that his mission execution capability alone was equal to an entire ISAF Air Force squadron. With support from the ISAF, the team of Sky Eye and Mobius One engaged all of the Free Erusian Forces in the subjugation mission named "Operation Katina".

Due to the fact that they did not have a strong ground force, the Free Erusian forces relied on transport aircraft and ships to support their operations, but they had an extensive supply of military aircraft and a sizable naval fleet, including aircraft carriers. Despite their overwhelming numbers, the Free Erusian forces were overwhelmed by the fabled "Ribbon Fighter", and within a month, were pushed back to their base of operations.

Mobius One raided their home base and successfully destroyed the remaining Free Erusian Forces. Immediately thereafter, however, Mobius One was met with the daunting task of engaging six X-02 Wyverns, or "Switchblades". After a long and difficult engagement, Mobius One shot down all six of the advanced aircraft.

The ISAF quickly searched the remains of the facility and recovered new unmanned technology which the Free Erusians were developing. With the uprising quelled, the new Erusian provisional government was established successfully.
