IDOLM@STER Aircraft
Talk0this wiki
The iDOLM@STER aircraft are a series of downloadable paint schemes in Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation and Ace Combat: Assault Horizon. They are based on THE iDOLM@STER, a rhythm and singer management franchise made by Namco Bandai. Each aircraft of the series incorporates a paint scheme themed on their respective characters, featuring official character portraits and associated colors, as well as the logo of 765 Production, the company all characters work with.
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Edit
Below is a list of all iDOLM@STER aircraft in Ace Combat 6, listed according to their release date. Images of each aircraft can be found in the gallery below. Each aircraft's Xbox Marketplace price ranges from 200 through 600 Microsoft Points.
Su-33 Flanker-D -Miki-
Edit
A lime green Su-33 Flanker-D themed on Miki Hoshii, a 765Pro idol. The aircraft features slightly lower speed and defense than the standard Flanker, but as compensation receives a boost in air-to-ground and stability. Its "successor" is the Su-47 -THE IDOLMASTER MIKI-EX-.
F-117A Nighthawk -Yukiho-
Edit
A light purple F-117A Nighthawk centered on character Yukiho Hagiwara. This Nighthawk variant suffers a decrease in speed (thus becoming the slowest aircraft in Ace Combat 6), defense and stability. As a trade-off, it gains max air-to-ground and an increase in air-to-air. The Yukiho aircraft has the advantage of gaining mobility as speed increases.
Su-47 Berkut -Miki EX-
Edit
This Su-47 Berkut variant is themed on a different Miki Hoshii, known as "Awakened Miki". The successor of the Su-33 iDOLM@STER, the Miki-EX gains a minor boost to all parameters except stability & defense. The Miki Berkut's main strength is its physics-defying maneuverability.
F-15E Strike Eagle -Chihaya-
Edit
An F-15E Strike Eagle adorned in a light purplish blue paint scheme representing idol Chihaya Kisaragi. This particular Eagle receives a minor increase to its overall statistics with the exception of defense. The Chihaya Eagle possesses top-notch speed and mobility, but as a trade-off the aircraft has a tendency to become unresponsive and briefly lock into a nosedive upon taking damage.
F-22A Raptor -Haruka-
Edit
An iM@S-themed F-22A Raptor centered on idol Haruka Amami, the so-called "main character" of THE iDOLM@STER. Well known for its distinctive reddish-pink paintjob, this iM@S aircraft gains a small yet vital increase of all parameters, thus earning maximum speed and air-to-air. The lower side of the plane is colored black, representing her dark alternate personality, Dark Haruka.
Mirage 2000-5 -Yayoi-
Edit
A tangerine-colored Mirage 2000-5 featuring character Yayoi Takatsuki. The iDOLM@STER 2000-5 receives a major boost in speed, air-to-air and air-to-ground, while defense and stability are decreased. All missiles fired by this aircraft leave orange smoke trails.
Rafale M -Iori-
Edit
The seventh aircraft of the iM@S line, this Rafale M boasts a bright pink paint scheme themed on Iori Minase. This particular plane gains an all-round performance boost, while also suffering from poor stability. Despite having higher maneuverability, it possesses a lower turning radius than the "vanilla" Rafale M, even at high speeds.
F-16C Fighting Falcon -Mami Futami-
Edit
One of the two aircraft bundled with the "Futami Twins" pack, this yellow F-16C Fighting Falcon is themed on idol Mami Futami, twin to Ami Futami. The iM@S F-16C gains a general boost to its statistics, however its stability suffers a major blow. This aircraft has a tendency to remain locked when rolling, snapping out only through player input.
F-2A Viper Zero -Ami Futami-
Edit
The other plane of the Futami aircraft pack, the iM@S F-2A Viper Zero is centered in Ami Futami, Mami's twin. This plane gains a lower air-to-air bonus. Contrasting its "twin", the iDOLM@STER Viper Zero is plagued with a "pitch lock" problem. Unlike its Mami counterpart, this plane has a mustard-type paint.
F-14D Super Tomcat -Azusa-
Edit
This particular F-14D Super Tomcat boasts a dark purple design portraying idol Azusa Miura. Its speed, maneuverability and defense gain a power-up, while also suffering a large decrease in air-to-air, air-to-ground and stability.
F/A-18F Super Hornet -Ritsuko-
Edit
The iM@S F/A-18F Super Hornet is centered around idol singer Ritsuko Akizuki. Decorated with a deep green and white design, this aircraft gains a small increased of its weapons capacity, as well as a maximum increase to stability, air-to-ground & air-to-air, while suffering a minor hit to defense and speed.
A-10A Thunderbolt II -SP-
Edit
This A-10A Thunderbolt II variation is centered on 765Pro's office lady Kotori Otonashi. It boasts a similar paint scheme to the iM@S Super Hornet, featuring "chibi" versions of all characters featured in Ace Combat 6 in its main body. This plane gains a susbtantial increase in speed, mobility and air-to-ground, while air-to-air is increased to maximum levels and stability suffers an unusual drop. Its main characteristic is its lack of inertia, allowing it to "drift" in mid-air.
EF-2000 Typhoon -Makoto-
Edit
The thirteenth and final aircraft of the iDOLM@STER series, the iM@S EF-2000 Typhoon features a black, red and white scheme with the likeness of idol Makoto Kikuchi. Mobility, stability and speed are increased to their maximum level, while air-to-air, air-to-ground and defense suffer a massive blow.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
Edit
Due to popular demand and praise of the iDOLM@STER series in Ace Combat 6, the iDOLM@STER series made a return in Ace Combat: Assault Horizon as downloadable paint schemes for their respective aircraft. Each paint scheme comes with a monochrome version. Thus far, the only iDOLM@STER aircraft released have already been released in Ace Combat 6. Below is a list of the paint schemes, in order of their release date. Each aircraft's price is static at 400 Microsoft Points and $4.99 PSN credit, but they can be purchased in packs of three for 800 MSP or $9.99 (a discount of 400 MSP/$4.99). The paint schemes are based on the idols' new looks in The Idolm@ster 2, a new game set in an alternate universe different from the first Idolm@ster game. Several idols like Miki Hoshii and Makoto Kikuchi have new design in their appearances. While the Project iM@S logo seen in Ace Combat 6 is replaced with Project iM@S 2nd Vision logo.
F-15E Strike Eagle "Chihaya"
Edit
This paint scheme for the F-15E Stirke Eagle is based on Chihaya Kisaragi. While the Ace Combat 6 version used more of a light-blue-purple hue, Assault Horizon's version uses a darker blue and no purple, with feather patterns all over the body. Chihaya is shown wearing the blue-black Floral costume. The "configuration" to make her costume is written on the right elevator of the plane.
Su-33 Flanker-D "Miki"
Edit
Akin to its Ace Combat 6 version, this is a lime-green paint scheme of the Su-33 Flanker-D centered around Miki Hoshii. The body of the plane has star patterns. Miki is shown wearing the blue-green Starry costume with a new wavy hair. The title of her image song and personal song "relations" is written on the left elevator of the plane.
F-22A Raptor "Haruka"
Edit
Also similar to its Ace Combat 6 version, this is an iM@S paint scheme for the F-22A Raptor centered on singer Haruka Amami, the so-called "main character" of THE iDOLM@STER, with a distinctive pink-white paint job. Unlike the paint scheme in Ace Combat 6, the underside is no longer black colored. Haruka is seen wearing her red-white Luxury costume. The title of her personal favorite song "GO MY WAY!!" is written on the right elevator.
F-117A Nighthawk "Yukiho"
Edit
The F-117A Nighthawk paint scheme is based on Yukiho Hagiwara. It's a cyan-white paint job, her image color, unlike the paint scheme in Ace Combat 6 which used grey instead. The body has snowflake patterns all over it. She is wearing the cyan-yellow Floral costume. Her image and personal song "Kosmos, Cosmos" is written on the root of the right wing.
Mirage 2000-5 "Yayoi"
Edit
The Mirage 2000-5 paint scheme is very similar to the Ace Combat 6 version, except this new paint scheme uses a brighter shade of orange. The paint scheme is orange and white with flower and circle patterns. She is wearing the white-orange Luxury costume.
Typhoon "Makoto"
Edit
The Typhoon paint scheme keeps the same black and white scheme used in Ace Combat 6. The red flower petal patterns are more visible in the new scheme. Makoto is wearing her black-grey Starry costume. Her hair is now also a bit longer than in the Ace Combat 6 paint scheme.

Trivia
Edit
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
Edit
- Most iDOLM@STER aircraft slow down rapidly when performing a High-G turn. A good example would be the F-22A, which can go from 1200 mph to 74 mph in about 5–6 seconds.
- Usually, speed is needed for them to be used to their fullest.
- The numbers of missiles in the aircraft are actually the height of the idol shown on the aircraft. Example : F-14D Azusa has 168 missiles, her height is 168 cm. The exception goes to A-10A Idolm@ster SP. It has 765 missiles, it's actually the name of the protagonist's talent agency in The Idolm@ster, 765 Productions.
- The number of the aircraft's first three special weapons are actually the "three-sizes" (B-W-H) of the idol shown on the aircraft. If there is a fourth special weapon on the aircraft, it would be the idol's weight. Example : F-15E Chihaya has 72 XMA6, 55 UGB, 78 SFFS, and 41 XAGM. Her three-sizes are 72-55-78, and her weight is 41 kg. Again, the exception goes to A-10A Idolm@ster SP. It has 70 RCL, 60 FAEB, and 50 XAGM, 765 is the name of the talent agency, 765 Productions.
- They all have at least one very good strength about them: the A-10A can dogfight well, the F/A-18F is very stable, etc. Conversely, they all also have a weakpoint: the F-15E is very weak, the F-14D is terrible in close combat, the Typhoon has a notable missile lock delay, etc.
- The Tornado GR.4 and the CFA-44 Nosferatu are the only planes not to have an iM@S variant.
Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
Edit
- The variants are downloadable as paint schemes for Assault Horizon, which means they do not have a modification to their stats. This may or may not be received well, because the iM@S planes in AC6 gave variation to the battle (with a new strength but a new weakness).
