The Leasath Civil War is a conflict mentioned in Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception. Some time prior to the game's events, the Democratic Republic of Leasath. In 2018, the Leasathian government was planning for an arms research and development industry all over the world, which the Leasathian citizens did not approve of. The collapse of their economy drove Leasath into a civil war that ravaged the country. The war lasted for about one year, until in 2019 military commander Diego Gaspar Navarro rose to power, after which he reunited the splintered Leasath, becoming the nation's de facto head of state in the process. Afterwards, Diego manipulated the Leasath populace into believing that the neighboring Republic of Aurelia was responsible for their civil war, claiming that the declaration of war against Aurelia was 'retribution for years of exploitation'. The inevitable invasion of Aurelia is thus setting the game's events into motion.
