Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG, or RSK MiG, is a Russian joint stock company. Formerly Mikoyan-and-Gurevich Aircraft Design Bureau (Russian: Микоян и Гуревич, МиГ), then simply Mikoyan, it is a military aircraft design bureau, primarily designing fighter aircraft. It was formerly a Soviet Design Bereau, and was founded by Artmen Mikoyan and Mikhail Gurevich as "Mikoyan and Gurevich", with the bureau prefix "MiG." Upon Mikoyan's death in 1970, Gurevich's name was dropped from the name of the bureau, although the bureau prefix remained "MiG". The firm also operates several machine-building and design bureaus, including the Kamov helicopter plant.

MiG aircraft were also used by the Chinese, North Korean, and North Vietnamese in aerial confrontations with American and allied forces. The Soviet Union sold many of these planes within its sphere of influence.

The Russian government merged 100% of Mikoyan shares with Ilyushin, Irkut, Sukhoi, Tupolev, and Yakolev as a new company named United Aircraft Corporation. Specifically, Mikoyan and Sukhoi were placed within the same operating unit.

Service HistoryEdit

The Mikoyan fighter aircraft served in most of the Ace Combat games air-forces. The games being Ace Combat 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 0, X, X2. Yuktobania which is a Russian duplicate country is the main user and distributor of Mikoyan aircraft and parts.

In the real world the Mikoyan's aircraft served in about 60 nations across the world but mostly members of the Warsaw Pact. The MiG saw extensive service in the Korean war, Vietnam war and most Arab conflicts.
