Once one country mad a flying fortress i would imagine some others might try it to keep from falling behind in an arms race. Aircraft carriers can be easily destroyed by nukes too, but countries keep building them.
um, SAMs don't target ground targets, you would be thinking of a SSM or an ASM.
Dunno. I'd say Osea has played some pretty important roles, even if only in wars. After all, it fought the Belkan War (partly) for peace, and it only fought in the Circum-Pacific war because it was tricked. But in the end, Harling did his best to fix things. And he did. Right?
Well when Harling downsized the military it was after the end of the Belkan War, when everyone reasonably assumed that Belka was no longer a threat. The only other nation that could possibly stand up to Osea and the time even with a downsized military was Yuktobania, and they were their allies.
That's a very incorrect statement. Yuktobania started a war with Osea, but Osea utilized its air power as well as its Arkbird and halted the Yuktobanian invasion.
After the Yukes' invasion of Sand Island failed, nothing happened for weeks. In fact, the next thing to happen was President Harling going to North Point to discuss peace with Nikanor. But they got kidnapped. Immediately following that kidnapping, Appelrouth invaded Yuktobania.
If the peace talks had succeeded, then you wouldn't be saying that Harling failed to understand the idea of peace through a strong defense. Because, in reality, he understood the idea best of all.
Very true, very true. It's not that he didn't care about defending, it's that he believed that peace could be achieved.
