A large attack force led by the Spiridus airship bombarded the city, causing the Japanese Self-Defense Force to hold off the Valahia until they received back-up from the private contractor Martinez Security and the United States 7th Fleet, who were conducting combat exercises in Midway.
The Spiridus was eventually driven off the city by the Antares Squadron. Some days later, the city was besieged by a second force involving an Orgoi plane; the attack was also foiled, ending with the destruction of the giant aircraft. No further attacks were carried out in the aftermath.
In 2019, remnants of the failed New Russian Federation backed by the Blatnoi syndicate carried out a terrorist attack on the harbor near Haneda Airport. The attack stirred fears among the local people, being openly compared to the 9/11 attacks.
In Ace Combat Infinity, Tokyo is one of the cities heavily damaged during the Ulysses Disaster. The damage is so extensive that the Japanese government de-classified Tokyo as the capital and changed the capital city to a different one.
